Chantastic Glossary

There are a few phrases that I use quite often that probably don't make sense if you've never heard them before.  Below is a list of these terms (which will be added to when necessary), plus an explanation:

FMC (aka Future Mrs. Chan) - A term to describe a woman I find appealing and attractive but essentially has no chance to actually become my wife.  Usually describes someone I see on TV.  For example, "Ashley S from The Bachelorette is a total FMC."

Don't try to be a hero - Phrase that I have used for years, and a motto I live by.  It is a phrase used to denounce the actions of people who engage in behaviour that would only be successful in extremely rare cases.  For example, if during a softball game, a player takes a huge swing at a pitch in an attempt to hit a mammoth home run that leads to a high pop up instead, it would be the perfect time to say to the person, "Don't try to be a hero."  This may or may not be a real life example.

So that (just) happened - A phrase said after something strange or bizarre occurs, or after telling a story where something strange or bizarre occurs.  For example, if I am being searched for contraband and weapons prior to entering a restricted area and the person who is searching me grabs my genitals as part of the process, it would be appropriate to say out loud, "So that just happened."

Why won't you love me? (aka WWYLM?) - A theoretical phrase invented by Cobra.  We have never actually heard the phrase used in real life, but it is our life mission to hear someone say this phrase legitimately.  Often used to describe a breakup where one of the partners is reluctant to end the relationship.  For example, "Johnny wants to break up with Jenny, but I think it's going to lead to a 'Why won't you love me?' situation."

A Little Chan - When I was roommates with Jimbo, Stephe, and Cobra, I frequently took naps, and taking a nap eventually became "Taking A Little Chan".
